This auction is for a New, Complete in Box NAVAJO BLACK BEAUTY 1E - 0993 by Original Makers of TOPP = Westland. In January of 2009, He was retired at number 3E/1802. From the Trail Of Painted Ponies (TOPP) SUMMER of 2007 – The 10th Herd comes a ceramic pony created by Barbara Duzan.This 7" tall Resin Pony is beautiful & he comes to you Brand New in the Box, encased safely in Styrofoam and with his own introduction story hang tag. He has not been out of the Burgundy box except to check his edition number & photograph him. TOPP Pony #12254. Please note: All ponies are in mint condition unless otherwise stated. Some pony's may have minor imperfections that occurred during manufacturing. These are not considered to be damaged as this is the way they were received from TOPP. Occasionally a tag or box (shelf wear & aging) might have a slight creases, scratches or discoloration to it. Please view ALL photos so you know what you are buying!! I try to find horsey items that I think would appeal to the Equestrian Crowd, but quality items are difficult to find. Also: KNOW that a percentage of each sale goes towards Rescuing /Rehabbing less fortunate horses in need and our reputable Equine Charities are: SRF--Standardbred Retirement Foundation (NJ) Central Virginia Horse Rescue (VA), and Leilani Mae Horse Rescue (NC). These rescues have websites & Facebook pages, if you'd like to share or get involved. I hope we never forget the role that horses played in American History.
Creators Details: As well as for their famous rugs, Navajo weavers are known for their beautiful, pictorial basket weavings. Many illustrate themes and tell stories that preserve their history. Barbara Duzan, an Arizona artist who has distinguished herself internationally with her one-of-a-kind beaded animals, wanted to pay special tribute to this unique tribal tradition by beading a Pony that carried "Man Placing the Stars," a tribal creation myth, on one side of her Navajo Black Beauty Pony and "Sun's Journey through the Sky" on the other. Each design is rendered in the Navajo basket weaver's style.
